So what's the hooplah all about? I have used macs and ipods and iphones, I know the features of these things but somehow, I don't see what other people see in those Apple products. Am I unlucky or just lucky and smart? I'm really hoping someone would explain this to me - hopefully someone who really knows these products (or at least 80% of an Apple product, which I believe only 10% of users do!)
Now lets take a closer look at the Apple product user, shall we?
So who is this user? What does he/she do? What does he/she look like? What makes him/her go for this product?
Judging from the users I've come across, a typical Apple product user is:
- A person who believes that any Apple product he/she is using is the best and no other product can come close to it;
- A person who is ignorant about what else is available in the market (which includes cheaper YET better products than Apple);
- A person who doesn't know how to use most of the features of his/her Apple product (but believes he/she does);
- A person who buys this product just to look cool/white/rich/educated/in/savvy or worse - a combination of all these things!
- A person dumb enough to fall for Jobs' marketing gimmicks;
- A person who believes God = Jobs (not the other way 'round);
- A person who is totally oblivious to the FACTS mentioned above;
- A person who, when confronted with these things, says "Oh yeah? Maybe you're all those things and you're ignorant" because Jobs didn't teach him a smarter comeback!
So there you have it, a typical Apple user. This list isn't exhaustive, and I am sure I missed out a lot of things, so feel free to add yours.
